Scrum Half
The Scrum Half positon is a very important role on the team, they provide the link between the forwards and backs. Scrum Halfs define the tempo at which the attacking game is played and can have an influence over the attacking decisions. They should be able to pass perfectly from the floor, box kick for touch and for an up-and-under and they should be able to hold their own with the forwards. Scrum Halfs should boss around their forwards whilst listening to the 10 for when to give the ball out to the backs. In defence the 9 can sweep behind the line working with the Full Back to cover kicks and stop line breaks from getting too dangerous.
