Number 8
The Number 8 in rugby is typically one of the most powerful players of the field, capable of carrying the ball hard, breaking tackles and making yards. They also have some ball responsibility at the base of a scrum and therefore should have a tactical brain when it comes to making decisions from a scrum. Number 8s should work with the flankers in defence and attack as loose forwards can easily be the ones to make the difference in either scoring tries or stopping the opposition. Also, the 8 should have a good relationship with the 9 and help the scrumhalf at the base of the scrum.
